Award Winning Columnist to Converse in Coventry
Wednesday May 16th 1pm Coventry University in the Ellen Terry Building, Rm ETG34
To stand out from the crowd in the busy world of Sports journalism is not easy; Jim White of the Daily Telegraph has achieved that. His weekly column is a ‘must read’ for those interested in sporting matters. Jim will be coming to share his experiences and expertise in a city Coventry Conversation on Wednesday May 16
Jim is Manchester born and bred and, not surprisingly, a Man United fan(atic) having since written the half million word magnum opus on the club. He has, in addition to writing for the Telegraph and the Independent from launch, appeared much on TV and radio. His broadcast credits include sport on Radio Five (including a Sony Gold for a documentary on the end of the old Wembley) to radio Four’s “Front Row” (on his other passion-films) to documentaries for Sky Sport (On Jose Mourniho and Sven Goran Erikson) to fronting coverage of Celtic in the Champions League. Jim is a man of many journalistic parts; he will share them with students, staff and others in Coventry John Mair, organiser of the Conversations says ’I was part of a Careers fair with Jim in Oxford earlier this year. The endless queue of journalists manqué to talk to him told its own story. We are very privileged to have him come and share the secrets of his journalistic lifetime with us in Coventry.
Entry is free and open to all!
