Thursday 31st May, 1pm, Ellen Terry Building, Coventry University, Room ETG34
Midlands TV icon Nick Owen comes to Coventry on 31 May to end the current highly successful Coventry Conversations series. Nick is on television nightly. He is the main presenter of BBC Midlands Today and has been for nine years. His is one of the best known faces on TV; from his early days at Central TV through to TVAM, Good Morning with Anne and Nick and the ITV Midweek Sports Special. But what is the secret of TV presentation? Is it as easy as Nick makes it look and how long will he get away with telling such awful jokes? Nick will share the secrets of a lifetime spent in front of the camera in a Coventry Conversation on Thursday 31st May at Coventry University’s Ellen Terry Building, Room ETG34 at 1pm. John Mair, organiser of the series said: “I can’t think of a nicer end to the current series of Coventry Conversations. Nick is a charming man both on and off screen. His ease in front of the camera is a lesson in cool. How does he make it look so easy? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to come and ask the man himself.” This is the last in the current run of Coventry Conversations but guests already confirmed for the autumn series include Baroness Amos, Jon Snow of Channel Four News and BBC comedy producer, Armando Ianucci.
