The Promised Land?
A serious minded individual dedicated to maintaining high quality standards with first class analytical and problem solving skills. I have a 2eme degree in French from Alliance Francaise de Paris and as a media production graduate from Coventry University, I possesse some experience in other forms of Media such as Video Production, Media Research and Broadcast Journalism.
Documentaries like Multi-Culturalism in Coventry University, Representin and The Promised Land? and short films such as Dancing Shoes and Mistaken are some of the successful productions I have being part of during my study at the University. Working at Legal TV (Sky 215) also gave me the opportunity to work on some live television shows such as Barristers Review, Family Law and Immigration and Asylum. Apart from video and television production.
I also have a great interest in Broadcast Journalism and this passion had led to the making of some court voicers, radio/tv packages, vox pops, trials/teasers and radio documentaries. Most of them mainly touched on social issues, current affairs and history.
As a researcher/assistant producer at Legal Tv (Sky 215) on the Immigration and Asylum show, I was touched by some of the stories and experiences of some of the asylum seekers calling the show for legal advice. In the mid stages of my placement, I was engrossed with the issue of immigration and asylum so much that I decided to make a documentary to educate people from the developing countries that life in the West is not as cosy as it is portrayed by many; and to prepare those who want to make their way to Britain in search of a better life of some of the legal, physiological and emotional strain they might/would encounter, hence the making of The Promised Land?
The main aim of ‘The Promised Land?’ is also to inform the British society especially political leaders about some of the extreme lengths immigrants particularly asylum seekers go through to get into Britain in order to have a better life so that they will be treated with respect and dignity by both the law and society.
With the software skills I have acquired through Avid, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Adobe Audition, I hope to achieve my ultimate goal of working in the media industry as a media researcher and advance into a successful producer/film maker.
